Over the last month I have had a problem with a former friend. I have stewed and stewed about what to do with this "friend". I tried very hard to just ignore the situation, which is very hard when someone is spreading false rumors and stories about you. I have actually lost some other "friends" over this other "friend". I have almost had to defend myself on a constant basis lately. I was going to use my blog here to defend myself, but after much soul searching, pondering and listening to General Conference (and my wonderful new Bishop) I have come up with a new plan.
Many times during Conference our General Authorities and Prophets stated that we should be peaceful people. That we needed to unite together and be as one. It has been mentioned to me (someone who never holds a grudge) that we are commanded to forgive, but not when to forgive. Apparently this "friend" is so afraid of what I might say or do against her that she felt she needed to lash out first. It isn't worth the effort to defend myself to most people. This whole issue was called into action because of several mistruths, that I questioned her about. It has been said that I really hurt feelings this way, so for this reason I must apologize for questioning our friendship. She has chose a different path and after reading another blog about letting people go, it is better this way. I hope life is much happier for the both of us this way. I can't make anyone be my friend, I just ask to not be enemies.
My Goals from Conference
1- Improve my self worthiness (obviously needs work)
2- Work on my Family Home Evenings
3- Learn Time Management
4- Keep paying Tithing, Fast Offerings and Missionary Fund
5- Make peace with most of my family and friends
6- Love everyone
