Where have I been?

K... so I am a slacker. I haven't posted much, because I haven't been very positive lately and I don't want to look back later and think... wow... I was negative there, wasn't I? I don't want all happy go lucky posts either. But too many negative posts... isn't good.

New Moon

K... so my luck in seeing movies (that I have been waiting for) isn't very good. I have only ever gone to 2 opening movies for the Midnight release. I will never do that again. I can wait til that weekend or even any day. One was posted last year for Twilight. And part of the reason I wasn't a fan. So we will flash forward to Friday after New Moon was released. I had surgery the week before (so waiting in the line for an hour was horrible). But we were about the 15th people back. There was couple, then a group of kids, then us.

This was at Provo Towne Center Theaters.

When we get to go to the seats, there was a mad rush to get in (there is still about 30-45 minutes before the movie). The couple and the group raced the that front row (with the bars in front to put your feet up on). And the younger kids got there first (duh). K. Seriously, the lady starts to throw a temper tantrum. She bought her tickets weeks in advance, was the first in line and should be able to sit in any seat she wants before anyone else can take them. And she was 30+ in age. She starts telling the girls that they need to move. Which starts a yelling match. At this point, they stop letting people in the theater (about 40 of us were in there). And try to work it out. Her husband is yelling at some other guy to stay out of it. It took about 5 managers to come talk to everyone and work it out.

And you want to know what happened????

They let her have the seat she wanted.

WHAT??!!??!?

Seriously, could we put this lady on a black list or something?

All of this over a movie. Who does that?

And then it get's better.

My sister (just jokely) tags one of the managers as he walks by... and says "Hey... I bought my ticket, stood in line and I don't think I like my seat anymore. I want that one over there." He just looked at her like she was insane... and was trying to process how to fix that. My sister was willing to just let him stand there stunned for a minute or two... And I quickly apologized for her... she is just kidding. I can't even begin to describe the relief that passed over his face. Then sat and chatted with us. He told us that during New Moon, this was mild and you would be amazed at how big of temper tantrums Women were throwing over seats, audience reactions (that was ruining the movie for them) and people that were eating too loudly. He explained how women (not teenage girls), were going insane over a lot of movie releases. What is this world coming to?

I did enjoy the movie. I enjoyed watching my daughter, watching Jacob shirtless. That was a riot. It was good. A little far from the book, but I am becoming more used to that. Good show!

More to come soon.

Reading about your experience at the movies further motivates me to see them at least a week after they're released. Not only that, at a matinee midweek even! :)

Thanks for your sweet comments too. It's helping me not feel so blue.
